When you fall in love, is it forever?

This is the story of billionaire, Adrian, who finds love in an unexpected place. Victoria woks to jobs to pay to live and finish her degree She is a good girl but street smart. She meets a man at her night job but doesn't know who he really is. Adrian doesn't do relationships. He is a workaholic who can solve just about any problem through hard work and determination. He doesn't complicate his life with relationships. Then he meet Victoria. He wants her, more than just sex. He enjoys being with her and talking or just hanging out. A huge misunderstanding keeps them separated for 4 years. Victoria has huge secret that Adrian deserved to know. What happens when they meet up again? Will they fall in love again or does the secret rip them apart? I won't spoil it for you. You'll need to read the book to find out. I enjoyed reading this book you will also.

Trust ... Love ... Betrayal ... Regret ... All Good!

Vulnerability – many think of this as a personality defect. Ask anyone ... most will say they are afraid to appear vulnerable. This fear is exacerbated when one is raised in an atmosphere of neglect or lovelessness.

Young in years, Adrian is an old, driven soul – casual sexual liaisons are his nights – making tons of money are his days ... until he spots Victoria, a part of the nighttime cleaning crew ... the last person one would expect him to pursue for his pleasure.

Victoria is studying for her degree while holding down two labor-intensive jobs, with no time for boys, parties, etc. Her upbringing was not as bleak as Adrian’s, but it wasn’t easy. Her mother died when Victoria was a small child; her father died during her freshman year at university, devastating her stepmom and two stepsisters, with added financial strictures to boot.

It’s a familiar scenario: man spots woman (actually, she bumped into him); man is intrigued; he makes contact; she is equally intrigued BUT ... and there begins a well-crafted tale. The electricity between them is spectacular; things move quickly; and then the misunderstandings begin.

Because each of them is a somewhat damaged soul, therefore vulnerable, neither can nor will verbalize innermost feelings, thus creating tension and a good story.

Readers need to be patient with this tale. Fear, regret for the past, feelings of betrayal; resolving issues of trust takes time, and learning to trust takes work. Can love conquer all? Some say yes ... others disagree. I recommend this book, and was given an ARC for an honest review.

looking for his forever love without even knowing it

If you are looking for a book that will move you, make your heart pound, have you laugh one page and cry the next, then this is definitely the book for you. Adrian is a lost soul, looking for his forever love without even knowing it. Victoria is a young, determined woman on a mission, trying to complete her degree in accounting by attending school full time, and working two jobs to pay for it all, while trying to help support her stepmother and half-sisters since her fathers unexpected death at a very young age. She is so focused, that she doesn't have time to think about what she is missing out on in life...until she runs into Adrian, literally.
Ms. Antonia has created a read that, once you start, you don't want to put it down. It is intense, yet easy to read. The plot is well thought out and executed, giving us an internal view of the lives of the main characters. It covers a period of approximately seven years from start to epilogue, yet doesn't leave you feeling that it was rushed at any point. Loved this book! It is a complete novel with no cliffhangers. Definitely worth the read.

Great book for Section 1 of the LARE

I bought this to study for the LARE Section 1. It's on the CLARB recommended reading list for that section. I'm very pleased. It is extremely well organized material. There is one chapter on international contracts that I haven't read, but other than that, this book answers EVERY question I got wrong on the practice tests. I went from failing practice tests to passing them. Nearly every chapter has information necessary to answer at least one question on the practice test and the information is presented in a manner makes creating flash cards very easy. I recommend that you take a practice test first so you know what will be important and then read the book. You'll find that the information in this book was referenced very often when creating test questions.

You get what you pay for

Be aware that this is the "Indian Edition". The book is very cheap construction and certainly did not appear brand new. The pages are extremely thin and not bound well. However, it appears to have the same information as the original, and at a fraction of the price.

Worth reading before trading in these volitile stocks

There are so many useless books available. What I've found with the "Dummies" series is that they give you a good initial overview of the subject.
"Penny Stocks for Dummies" gave me that initial "course study" so to speak. Where it also informs to give you an idea where else one needs to study further. As example, the chapter that covered "Fundamentals" was lacking, but there is only so much you can fit in a single book. The book made me realize how much you need to study before you engage in investing or trading in this very volatile and risky area of the market.

I chose this rating of a book because it sounded really good. Not only that I sometimes think that my dad is a loser. I liked everything about this book. I think that this rating of a book is for anybody who rhino that their Dad is a loser. I really enjoyed this book. I also really enjoyed the book my dad is a butthead and I can't wait to read I Am Not A Loser. I hope that I Am Not A Loser is as exciting and good as My Dad Is A Butthead, and My Dad Is A Loser they were both very exciting. "I think that the order of the sections is very distinct. It was one of the main reasons that we initially chose the book because the first 5 chapters were our exact course. I also think that it is more cohesive than other texts. Other publishers seems to just stick in new chapters from edition to edition without making sure the notation is the same or the vocabulary is the same, one of the nicest differences about this book is that it just feels like a lot of thought was put into it."

About the Author
David Johnson earned a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology (with an emphasis on Learning Theory), from the University of California at Santa Cruz, and a Master's degree in Mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley. After several years working as an academic counselor at Berkeley, he became a Professor of Mathematics at Diablo Valley College (DVC). He has taught DVC's liberal arts math course regularly for about 25 years, using Mathematics a Practical Odyssey. Other favorite courses include Intermediate Algebra, all three semesters of Calculus, and Differential Equations.

Thomas Mowry earned a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Mathematics from Michigan Technological University, in Houghton, Michigan. He began his college teaching career at City College of San Francisco and then went on to teach at San Francisco State University, Golden Gate University, and Cogswell College. He has been a professor of mathematics at Diablo Valley College, Pleasant Hill, California since 1985, where he has taught the complete gamut of courses from arithmetic to differential equations. He has served as department chair at DVC for the last seven years. Along with co-author, David Johnson, he created a college-level, transferable mathematics course (at DVC ) designed for students in the liberal arts. As no appropriate textbooks were available for this course, he and David created Mathematics: A Practical Odyssey, which was first published in 1992.

Williams intertwines two stories of exploitation in this timely novel set in South Africa and New York City. Throughout his life, Seraki, a South African teenager, has witnessed destruction caused by hatred and violence. By joining the cast of a locally produced musical that exposes the plight of black South Africans, he finds a means to express his fear and pent-up outrage. The play travels to Broadway and Seraki discovers that even in America, the land of opportunity, he cannot escape corruption. While his people continue their fight for independence in their homeland, Seraki and the other actors attempt to free themselves from the control of a manipulative director. This tale, culminating in two separate celebrations of triumph, reveals the effects of oppression on both a psychological and a sociological level. Though Williams's knowledge of dramatics and adolescent perspectives adds authenticity, his occasionally contrived plot comes off as Cinderella-ish, with the protagonist going from rags to riches. Ultimately, this book will have the greatest impact on mature readers who are able to draw parallels between apartheid and the injustices that can prevail in a "free society." Ages 12-up.

Grade 7 Up-- Seraki Mandindi lives in Soweto, South Africa. The realities of life for him are stark--his family is poor, his brother Phakane is in police detention, and his relationship with his father is angry. But things change dramatically when he joins the cast of a musical about township life, and the actors go to New York City to play on Broadway. After the independent-minded Seraki gets on the wrong side of a dictatorial producer, he learns that the players have been swindled out of most of their earnings, and he and another cast member provoke a confrontation that results in victory for them all. When Seraki arrives home at the satisfying but perhaps too tidy conclusion, Phakane is there to meet him. The motif of the crocodile is skillfully woven into the plot. The feeling of optimism in South Africa in the heady days of 1990 is reflected in Seraki's sense that anything is possible. The township and its people are powerfully portrayed; by contrast, many of the actors remain unknown to readers. The plot is convincing, with the exception of Seraki's refusal to tell his mother that his imprisoned brother is alive. Good pacing and the first-person, present-tense narrative give the events immediacy. As a novel about the black experience in South Africa, the unpleasant realities of the theatrical world, or a young man learning to look after his own interests in a difficult and demanding world, this is a worthwhile and compelling read. --Susan Giffard, Englewood Public Library, NJ

Seraki's Soweto life takes a new direction when, almost by accident, he lands a part in a musical drama. The angry play is called iSezela, after a powerful, menacing crocodile in African myth, symbol of many kinds of oppression. The crocodile haunts Seraki: His brother Phakane is a political prisoner; the Naughty Boys, a gang of urban terrorists, is extorting money from his family; and the play, initially a liberating experience, becomes a nightmarish trap after its wild success in South Africa leads to a Broadway run and the director, Mosake, changes from inspirational leader to violent, exploitative tyrant. The author's theatrical experience stands him in good stead; readers will get a good sense of the work involved in a stage production and the heady feeling when it all comes together. While his lurid, harshly ironic portrait of N.Y.C. is unconvincing, Williams's insider's view of South Africa will open some eyes. The book ends on several hopeful notes: Seraki and the rest of the cast confront Masake, negotiate fairer contracts, and celebrate Nelson Mandela's release and also Phakane's--the crocodile's grip is slipping. ``So many things are happening in this country, Seraki, so many good things!'' A rare pleasure

That is, to have a general opponent of Marxism in a certain field deal with Marxist views and analysis in such a clear and fair manner. In this case it is Hugh Collins, Fellow of Brasenose College (not particularly known for its radical tendencies) at the time and now a specialist in contract law at the London School of Economics who analyses the possibilities for a Marxist theory of bourgeois law, and he does so with skill and subtlety.

Collins compares various possibilities for a coherent and effective Marxist theory of law, drawing on historical materialism, alienation, class instrumentalism and various other general Marxist 'tools'. This allows him to approach the subject in a manner that becomes increasingly complex and in-depth, as in forming a general theory from these building blocks he is capable of assessing the internal consistency each step of the way. In so doing he rejects the simplistic views of G.A. Cohen and Evgeny Pashukanis, as well as criticizing Lenin and Engels (the latter wrongly attributed) for relying too much on class struggle alone as the determinant factor.

Collins in the end arrives at a comprehensive view that seems to be along the lines of Engels' actual conception of the relation between the legal superstructure and the economic basis, as seen in his letter to Conrad Schmidt (Oct. 27, 1890). Since Collins is surprisingly competent at assessing the value and use of various Marxist terms and tools, he can use the theory of relative autonomy to launch some serious criticisms at the application of Marxism to law in general, which I do not find compelling enough to change my mind but which are certainly worth examining for any radical interested in legal philosophy. It is rare enough to have opponents of Marxist theory make coherent and to-the-point counterarguments, so this deserves a wider reading, to which the reprint should hopefully contribute. It is also helpful for non-specialists that the writing is clear and concise in the best English traditions, and the book is less than 150 pages of actual text.

Highly recommended to serious readers

Few books in circulation deal specifically with Marxism and law, probably because the former assigns the latter a distinctly subordinate role among society's real determinants. In Marxian thinking, law has neither autonomy in practice - being an extention of class interest - nor autonomy in theory - being hopelessly intertwined with nonlegal structures. Bourgeois theorists, on the other hand, treat law as possessing the necessary degree of autonomy that their studies require. Collins hopes to fill the current gap in scholarship created by Marxism' general neglect of legal theory, and succeeds admirably.
Current works are combined with classical ones in highly stimulating fashion that both inform the reader and deepen understanding. Anyone who believes that the `rule of law` is about ensuring that our societal game is played fairly, should read this book. Those of a more skeptical persuasion will also benefit from the skillful treatment Collins, an Oxford Don, brings to the subject. Highly recommended to serious readers.
